90th Anniversary and
Women’s Equality Day
Women’s Equality Day commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, the Woman Suffrage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave U.S. women full voting rights on August 26, 1920. Earlier that same year, suffragists founded the League of Women Voters to inform and engage new voters. After 90 years of community service, the League remains as active and relevant today as it was in 1920. Celebrate with us on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 5:30–7:30pm at a reception honoring the Women of the City of Houston. Find out more!
